This is the basic outline of the first third of the course along with links to various resources that you may use.

Basic economic principles

Podcasts:

  1. Note: Some of these may be duplicates of other resources.
  2. Economics in One Lesson (abridged audio book), by Henry Hazlitt
  3. Introduction to Economic Analysis, by Joseph Salerno, this is a fantastic 10 hour introduction to Economics.  I cannot recommend it highly enough.
  4. History of Economic Thought Vol I, by Murray Rothbard; stretching from the dawn of time through Adam Smith, this is a true eye opener.  I don’t expect you to read/listen to it all, but chapters of it are very pertinent to our time and to the influence of Christianity on economic thought.  Also chronicles the dawn of modern science and it influence on Economics…and remarkably apropos to nursing and medical research.
  5. History of Economic Thought Vol 2, by Murray Rothbard; traces the classical economists through Karl Marx.  You don’t know Marx until your listened/read this.
